Anthony Ruella

A middle school special education teacher from August through May, Anthony enjoys teaching others about all aspects of fly-fishing - from casting and reading the water to tying flies and building rods. He especially enjoys guiding newcomers to the sport, and looks forward to any opportunity where he can work with youngsters who wish to begin to fly-fish. Anthony describes his ideal day on the water as one during which his client has not only had an enjoyable time but has also become a better fly-fisher with a greater appreciation for the delicateness of the fish's environment. In his seven years as a professional guide, he has been featured on FlyFishing America and Southern Outdoor Adventures, managed a fly shop and tied flies and built rods commercially.

Personally, Anthony has a secret desire to catch as many different species on a fly rod as he can. While his love is fishing nymphs for big brown trout, he enjoys all species that will hit a fly, whether in salt or fresh water. Traveling extensively with his wife, he has fly-fished for both warm and cold-water species in such places as Alaska, Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, South Carolina, the Bahamas, Panama, and Canada.

Jack Frisch

Jack began fly fishing in the Adirondack Mountains of New York in 1958. An avid fly sher, he has fished all over North America in both fresh and salt water. He is the current President of the Pisgah Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the past President of the French Broad Fly Fishers (A FFF Charter Club).

Jack is intimately familiar with the waters in both the Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests. He is a custom fly rod builder and fly tier. He has also worked with the Mountain Aquaculture Research Center at Western Carolina University on the Brook Trout Genetic Identification Study.
