Anthony Ruella
A middle school special education
teacher from August through May, Anthony enjoys teaching others
about all aspects of fly-fishing - from casting and reading the
water to tying flies and building rods. He especially enjoys
guiding newcomers to the sport, and looks forward to any
opportunity where he can work with youngsters who wish to begin
to fly-fish. Anthony describes his ideal day on the water as one
during which his client has not only had an enjoyable time but
has also become a better fly-fisher with a greater appreciation
for the delicateness of the fish's environment. In his seven
years as a professional guide, he has been featured on
FlyFishing America and Southern Outdoor Adventures,
managed a fly shop and tied flies and built rods commercially.
Personally, Anthony has a secret
desire to catch as many different species on a fly rod as he
can. While his love is fishing nymphs for big brown trout, he
enjoys all species that will hit a fly, whether in salt or fresh
water. Traveling extensively with his wife, he has fly-fished
for both warm and cold-water species in such places as Alaska,
Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida,
South Carolina, the Bahamas, Panama, and Canada.
